Why I Wrote

Why do I write?

Because I can

I have the ability to

So why not?

I escape the real world

into my own.

Slide down rainbows

and jump into worlds unknown

all to escape my own.

Maybe to get to a place where I'll meet my dad again,

or start the day over,

live the dream I once stayed up and created.

Why do I write?

To create a world where

laughing spread like wildfire.

I could do flips

and land in fields of cotton candy.

Having fun with people I create.

Everyone would be different

with different a character trait.

I can create whatever I want

right here in my dreams.

I can create a whole new place

that no one has thought of.

Where problem didn't exist

and the sun kept shining.

Things would grow and I

would climb and climb.

I would act like a monkey

and swing from vine to vine.

My world isn't that bad,

but there are things I want to change.

So I write to make my own.

I don't have to worry about the outcome.

So why do I write?

Because my life is a book.

I write the next chapter,

page by page.
