Why I Write

Location

Shadow Child

Thats me

Loud but often unheard

Bright but often dimminished

Strong but often broke

Silent

Even when I cry

No one hears my voice

But the paper holds my words

The journal absorbs my tears

The pen becomes my sword

Intelligent

I'm smart, but he tells me Im worthless

I'm strong but he pushes me around

He makes me lose myself

He makes me doubt my worth

As my pen flows across the page,

in loopy bold round letters

I find my strength

I find my voice

I find the fight to push on

I find myself again
