13 years of being ignored
caught up with me
and i was not sure how to cope with it
until i started writing

that was the reason i started writing
but that was not the reason i started writing poetry

writing enabled me to express my feelings
but it never did enough
i was always more angry after writing them than i was initially

that was when i discovered the art that is poetry
poetry started to teach me

i started writing my thoughts and feelings into poetry form
and with each line
i would re-evaluate what i was about to say
and in turn
re-evaluate my emotions
instead of going on
and on
and on

and that is why i started writing poetry
