That Why I Do It, That's Why It's Done

Location

The blood, the sweat, the cries,

The tears, deception and lies,

All for that one moment in the light,

That's why I do it, that's why it's done

Starting from the little balance beam,

Little kid drugs tied in my leotard seams,

All because I wanted to be like Svetlana in that Ballet four class

That's why I do it, that's why it's done

Scraping makeup, peeling makeup, scratching it from my face

The skin problems, the acne, the smearing during a performance

All just to give  the audience the appearance of perfection

That's why I do it, that's why it's done

Being a dancer is dangerous for all aspects of your health

It impacts your life and rids stress of its stealth

All just for one eight count of freedom

That's why I do it, that's why it's done
