I gaze outside and view a darkness that goes unseen;
A world that once was is no longer clean.
The splendor of existence is overwhelmed by a flood of complacence.
Does this make any sense?
Children suffer, mothers cry, fathers hide the tears of bitter anguish.
A world intended to be full of joy instead is prohibited to flourish.
From all that we witness; only adverse suppositions can be made from this premiss.
Has anyone ever wondered why it is like this?
It just isn't logical for our existence to be a hit or a miss.
Has anyone ever asked why we must embrace the final dark kiss?
If all of life is spent building something that will soon fade away;
How can you convince me in this world to stay?
Everyone believes in something; whether they believe it or not.
There are good times and bad times; the cold and the hot.
But all arguments are eventually put away;
if there is not some higher purpose to live for today.
There must be something that will stand the test of time.
Or is life all about gathering pennies and dimes?
You cannot ignore this absolute for long, for when you hear life's final song;
Will you know where you belong?
