Who we Are

People say there’s nothing wrong with whom you are
But how come you discriminate against the art on my body
How come you judge by the color of my hair?
You say we won’t ever get anywhere
But why do you care?

They judge kids now by their weight
And make them all feel like a big mistake
How can you take a child’s rights away?
Because they don’t do stuff “your” way?

This world is a disaster all on its own
This place we all call home
We always have somebody to blame
But who’s really to blame?
Society calls us fat so we starve ourselves insane
Society says tattoos are for criminals
Then call me one
We all choose to live in a world like this
Where nothing seems to make sense
Where when your child is in trouble
You blame the teachers instead of your child
Where guns are in schools
And it’s no surprise
Where you’re more concerned about my body
Then the dangers lurking in your own home
We live in a world of shame
Where babies are having babies
Preachers are molesting children
And suicide is becoming “normal”.
We can’t change this world, but we can make a difference.
