Who I Want to Be

"Describe yourself in three words."

Carefree.

Confidet.

Brilliant.

Descibe myself in three words.

Worried.

Anxious.

Smart.

I find a candid picture of me and my sister throwing sand at each other.

SCAN -- into Photoshop.

We are both smiling and laughing,

But I remove the acne from my face -

Abating the notion that I am stressed.

I appear jaunty,

But the true presence of acne might say otherwise.

I'm shopping and I take a picture of myself in a dress I found.

FILTER -- I remove all color except red

The red is hot and vibrant.

A crimson red dress hugs the curves of my body.

Posting the picture screams,

"I've got confidence!"

But does the dress fit properly?

Over my books, with my glasses, I pose for a selfie.

CLICK -- The picture was taken.

I brighten the image.

My brown hair and glasses stand out now.

With my Oxford shirt and popping glasses,

I look like I belong at an Ivy.

But I'm not enrolled at an Ivy.

I pretend to be the person I want to be.

"Fake it 'til you make it," right?

But I can make myself who I want to be.

I can improve my self-esteem.

Describe myself in three words.

Carefree,

Confident,

Intelligent.
