Who am I?

Who am I?
Better yet what am I?
What do you see me as?

This is what I see in the mirror
I am black
But I'm not along the guidelines of what you define as black
I am white
But to you I don't look like anything I really am
What are you?
If you don't mind me asking?
Since you're so consumed with what I am.
How does it feel when I do this to you?
Uncomfortable right?

Personally I don't fit stereotypes
I try not to be what you define.
I'm not an angry black person
I'm a lover not a fighter
I'm soft-spoken not outspoken
I'm a thinker not a speaker

Though some people are like that
Stereotyping everyone isn't right
Just because a handful act a certain way
Doesn't mean everyone else does
Everyone is different and unique
So is their personality.
