Who Am I?

Hi my name is Frances

I am Puerto Rican, although anyone who doesn't know me

would argue that I am half black and something else,

I am a teenage girl in my own words through thought

while trapped in the words of others

those words that create a four wall barrier from my own thoughts at times

I spend alot of time inside four very reflective walls

Walls that claim to know me better than I could ever know myself

The very same walls made up of ignorance and insecurities

the ones that see only skin deep and allow that glimpse of sight perceive

the walls that tell lies I believe

So ask me "Who are you?" and I'll answer...

Hi my name is Frances, to you

I am whoever you perceive me to be

Honestly I don't think anyone really knows who they are

Everyday we are introduced to another perception, another version of ourselves

Who am I?

Well, some say I am the spanish girl that never talked in class

Others would say the girl who dreams and allows herself to see the world for all it is

Some would even say I'm just another stuck up, arrogant bitch who thinks she knows it all

But, I say I guess I am all of the above and so much more that is yet to be discovered.
