where no man has gone before

john mayer said it best:

my body is a wonderland -

sweet and delectable,

like a cup full of

the rarest darjeeling.

or maybe my body is

like the star trek enterprise -

taking men where they have

never gone before,

surrounded by halos of starlight

and marked by moonbeams.

then again, maybe my body is

a battlefield -

scarred with anger, but

ripped into silk ribbons

and thunderstruck petals.

perhaps my body is

the familiar moon -

in all her phases,

she glows and she is

beyond beautiful.

i'd like to think my body is

a french bakery's finest gateau -

best taken with silver spoons,

honeyed and soft,

layered with candied fantasies.

do you think my body is

a question seeking answers?

curved in her curiosity,

persistent in her very existence,

asking for amazement.

no, no, my body is

a classic book -

a timeless story

with a comforting scent

and homey, worn pages.

i hope my body is

a rainbow over a blazing wildfire -

beauty over destruction,

almost a saving grace,

a silver lining.

a final thoguht:

my body is a wildflower.

beautiful in its resilience,

its growth,

not just where it is planted,

but where the wind takes it.
