Where I'm From

I am from unsettlement

Many places have been called my home

Houses, apartments, and a grey condo

Giving me a place to live for 18 years

I am from busy cities to small country towns

From the smell of cars to the smell of cows

But I can always hear the voices of friends

I know I'll have them till the very end

I am from my dad's family's side

From their sense of humor to their Filipino pride

They're always keeping me focused in life

I am from memories of definite hard times

From holding back tears because of my pride

But it all made me the girl I am today

I am from many places, though none of them my own

But that never mattered because I always felt at home
