Where I’m From

I’m from ball fields,
from Red Socks Nation and red dirt Oklahoma.
I’m from the Dutch white skin and fiery red curly hair
(marshmellow softness and fire hot flames).
I’m a giver to Locks of Love,
the mother who feeds her babes who are more hungry than
food she has.

I’m a gift tied with a bow,
and I have to work on myself it’s not my goal that needs work.
I’m blessed with a great imagination,
it’s my preview to my future coming attraction.
I’m the one with the why,
and I can bear almost any How.

I’m fresh and funny,
feeling the rain on my skin, no one else can feel it for you.
I’m the only child and know my history,
knowing all responsibilities will lie with me for my family.
“Release my inhibitions, only you can let it in.
But the rest is still unwritten”

I am from those moments –
Fall comes, the leaves fall, we enjoy our lives,
and wait for whatever is to come.
