Where Does Home Begin?

When you’re feeling down and out,

And you feel you are all alone.

Think of what the world is about,

Realize you will always have a home.

“Home is where the heart is”

As always said before.

Although this is not a quiz,

Where does home start? At the front door.

Smiling faces.

Loving hearts.

Oh the place

Where it all starts.

We all may leave our safe place

And venture into the world,

But all that time we save a space

In our hearts for those memories pearled.

Those eighteen years we spent there

Filled with memories we held near,

Friends that cannot compare

To our family oh so dear.

So where does home start?

I ask again.

Our loved ones do depart

So the heart is where home begins.
