Where are the prophets?

Hebrews 6:19

19 This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.

It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.

Revelation 3:19

19 I correct and discipline everyone I love.

So be diligent and turn from your indifference.

Now I’m settling in … my disposition readjusted

I prepare again for the battle of my choice

“Peace on earth, goodwill to man” … a motto to be trusted

The example of “I used to be” … has now lost its voice

A living contra-diction … or a lie in existence

Here I come prepared again for the struggle

Bringing affliction on the ones I loved an instant

As I get snared in the traps set in constant hustle

Indifference perplexes me … my tears seem all dried up

On the brink of war and my prayers seem so hollow

Eyes that cannot see and a heart like an empty cup

That seems removed so far with troubles of tomorrow

What does a pastor feel in this uncertain world?

Where does his mission lead to fulfill tenderness?

Where is the appeal as common sense is is hurled

with an emotional speed into his deep loneliness?

Where are the prophets now when we really need them?

Where are the visions now to open understanding?

Why are there somehow no bells on the garment hems

of the priestly missions to show Life is well in hand?

In this uncertain world God is The Anchor

But what if my boat is leaking beyond repair?

What if I used “The Pearl” … to please my own hunger

to keep my ship afloat to get lost in anywhere?
