When the Wind Speaks
They say to make it in this world you need to be bold.
Bold and demanding. Demanding and loud.
"No space for the Little Ones, cut 'em all down."
Or "talk over them now and drown them in sound."
But you, you hear me.
You pause to tune into the soft whooshing of my tail and
Lift your face to feel me pass by, lashes bristling in time with the leaves.
With all the hustle and bustle of this age, Little One,
I've worried that calm and tranquility have been put out of fashion.
Yet to the few who take a moment to breathe in my air,
An understanding of the beauty of life vanquishes all despair.
I am here. Can you feel me?
They say that he who is meek and he who
Seeks peace will not make it far in this world:
"You must dispute! Demand what you require and it will be given!"
But you and I both know that isn't so.
It is the meek of heart that go to sleep without a worry
Of those they've offended that day.
It is the gentle and the "weak" who are strong and powerful,
Who do not see themselves as too high in the sky
To speak to one who is just trying to get by.
It is you and I who can both gently touch
Another's heart of hearts, caressing his or her face
Like a lover's embrace, but when unleashed
In our passions display our fearsome beauty
In the swirling winds of a hurricane.
It is you who lifts others up -
Never crushing,
Never taking.
It is you who pollinates the flowers and silently cares for
Your neighbor,
Your friend,
Your stranger,
Your enemy.
It is you who works so invisibly not to be
In the spotlights, and like me,
Is unseen in many matters of the world,
But yet you believe.
Have hope in me yet, Little One,
Because believe me,
I see you just as you feel me.
You are the wind.
You change more than you know and
Move the Earth in ways only you were destined to.

Do not be weary in doing good. Stay strong like the air that submits to God's direction.
Galatians 6:9 "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." KJV
