What you left behind

What you left behind, is what now takes up my heart

I cant live without him or his playful bark.

You took care of him and he made you smile

but now that you're gone, we both walk that mile

That mile you two had walked and trained

through the hot heat and the cold rain.

My love for the black and white dog with furry paws

is making up for my love that you took with you

I cant live without him, the same way I can't live without you.

But since I can never get you back

and all I have left are our memories and flashbacks

This dog is now my heart and soul

and I will never let him go

because he is the one thing you loved dearly so.
