What We are Given

To understand your future

You must dig into your past

Dig deeply

To the moments that made you

Every person is given a different hand

Delt by the same dealer

And God is at work

Within all of us

Inspiration comes in many forms

Not often in ones that are discoverable

But it is safe to say

I’ve found my inspiration in hardship

A father’s bond with his son is unbreakable

To an extent

And to crack that bond

May send you down two different roads

A vision is made for a son

Within the lines of a relationship

And that vision is put to the test

With the becoming of manhood

There is often a breaking point

With words that are said

And actions that are taken

But to me it is a building point

The pressure on my shoulders

Will soon be lifted

Goals will be reached

And stress will be diminished

I have been inspired by  stress

And through pressure

But I will stand tall

When my inspiration is carried through.
