What a Thing

It was nightfall when I recollected my thoughts.
My dad and I would sit outside
Talking about the nature that surrounded us.
Ah, the nature.
What a thing, I thought.

How the hot, flaming ball in the sky would radiate its beauty,
The clouds so puffy they looked like giant cotton balls,
Trees that seemed as if they stretched miles high,
Or how the wind's invisible hands would tickle our cheeks.
Nature, I thought.
What a thing.

Even now, I look up and see the white orb
That contrasts with the dark sky.
As I stare at the moon, a smile tugs at my lips.
Nature.
What a thing.
