What is love?

Love is but a happy flower in May

After the April showers have gone away

Kind and gentle love is said to be

But its price often isn’t free

Love is a queer thing

And with it dangling from a string

Nothing can make it last

Sometimes it disappears rather fast

Other times it seems to be right

But not long after it shows into light

Happy times come and go

Just as the wind will blow

Forgive past love and a new will appear

With a friend holding on so dear

Never thought we’d make it here

So close ear to ear and far enough barely to hear

That one day we would meet this way

I can’t remember what you’d say

But I’m sure it would mean the same

Something of love being a dancing flame

Of course life is filled with love

And sometimes we just hold on like a glove

Though many try and keep their feelings hidden

Feeling nearly their emotions forbidden

 But when we were young

We kept our feelings high strung

When stress built up and over flowed

It was our true color’s that we showed

With nothing said or done

We were soon having fun

Sorrow filled my heart when you left

Of all the crimes, you committed theft

You stole my heart

Perhaps we acted dumb from the start

Forever now we are alone

I bottled myself up acting like a drone

A few lies between us two

But it’s not like we had a clue

The future was not for us

And in the process we made a fuss

We shall not forget the past

Even still it hit like a blast

Some people believe in fate

Like some angel waiting at the gate

Others believe in first sight

Almost as if love would bite

Me I don’t know

Of course when it comes to love no one is a pro
