What If?

falling, falling, falling but where

The wind rushes against my ears

Jarring them into a state of shock

Poof, no sound

I cannot hear

The wind slaps against my eyes as they attempt to brace themselves

The wind has forced them shut

I cannot see

I attempt a shout and yet the winds have carried my cries away

I am not heard

And so i fall

Falling, falling, falling

Seemingly without end

Coming to terms with what was sure to be an abrupt stop,

I rested.

I accepted.

The winds no longer berated me.

And suddenly I wasn’t falling, but flying

The winds had sunken below me

Carrying me to a place of wonder that was yet unseen

Sometimes your greatest fall is a fly

But never, never, never
