What I Liked The Best

Sun, 08/04/2013 - 06:46 -- svc1950

Thinking of those summer nights--
we were so young, but we still drank wine,
with feet on your dash, dark streets aligned,
singing a love song louder in time.

But freedom ended, and fall dropped in--
She tried to bring with her a new kind of end.
"By this time next year, my old friend,
we'll all be right back here again."

And I did see you, in a dream--
You moved on to somewhere new.
So, I guess that's what it means;
I could never hold on to you.

But I see your face, in my memories,
you smile and you were laughing.
You said "I don't know, what I liked the best,
but when you were near, I was happy".
