What I Learned

Thu, 06/27/2019 - 14:56 -- Baigm1

In order for me to Glow up- to Grow up

I learned that no matter how people see me

Or how they glare at me, or whether darkness surrounds me

I can have the choice to shine a light and serve humanity

I learned that the true friends in life are few

And though I can’t fit in, to myself I must stay true

If I’m apart of society, I must be beneficent, merciful

And be able to see that all people are beautiful

I had gone through my share of the darkness of depression

As if all light was taken from my life I thought I was in delusion

Because I had few friends just because I couldn’t fit in

I didn’t fit in any group, didn’t have an Identity, or any nation

In order for me to Glow up- to Grow up

I learned that no matter how people see me

Or how they glare at me, or whether darkness surrounds me

I can have the choice to shine a light and serve humanity

Darkness closing in around me, walls bringing me to my knees

My soul almost shattered to a breaking point, no one heard my pleas

And though I felt that no one shows kindness and mercy

The pain that I face will at least give me the power of empathy

Though many of my friends have broken my heart

And in many directions my soul was torn apart

I must reflect the qualities of being beneficent and merciful

And see that all people regardless of our differences are beautiful

In order for me to Glow up- to Grow up

I learned that no matter how people see me

Or how they glare at me, or whether darkness surrounds me

I can have the choice to shine a light and serve humanity

There are many mistakes I have and I still reflect

On how I can be my best self and still prefect

The bravery of being myself, still being a good friend and brother

Even when injustice is done to people around me by others

Whatever pain that you have use let it become a star

And though you feel darkness may light come from afar

To guide you in every peradventure and every journey

And lift you from the dark cold sea and into safety

In order for me to Glow up- to Grow up

I learned that no matter how people see me

Or how they glare at me, or whether darkness surrounds me

I can have the choice to shine a light and serve humanity

No one is by themselves in their pain

Believe it or not, the world may be insane

But even through every challenge thrown at me and every darkness

Let serving all people be our common purpose regardless

No matter what you have to overcome dispel all fears

Ignore the heckling and inconveniences that appears

And trudge on the road, bravely on the road less traveled

it may be difficult to believe  but there is blessing in the road less traveled

In order for me to Glow up- to Grow up

I learned that no matter how people see me

Or how they glare at me, or whether darkness surrounds me

I can have the choice to shine a light and serve humanity

Due to the fact that as a person I’m not perfect

In order to change the world I must first change myself

And since all 8 billion aren’t perfect

We can’t change the world until we change ourselves

First rule is whatever bad was done to you don’t do to others

And easily shall wisdom come and you will understand the rest

Of the knowledge and understanding of kindness to others

All your problems become tests, and you  will pass your test!

In order for me to Glow up- to Grow up

I learned that no matter how people see me

Or how they glare at me, or whether darkness surrounds me

I can have the choice to shine a light and serve humanity
