What Drives Me

Wed, 10/12/2016 - 19:32 -- zbvg

Every day my eyes open, greeted by infinite sky,

I know my future is bright if I keep my amibitions so high.

So I get out of bed ready to tackle whatever lies ahead,

School some people dread, but that's nothing I've ever said .

Rigorous schedules stand before me, I know my goals will never come free,

But my determination is my rock, I know it should not come easy.

So i put my pen to the paper and my mind to the test,

Because each day is my chance to stand out from the rest.

I want to lead a life of prosperity where wealth is a measure of lives I touch,

Because when it comes time to make a difference, there is never too much.

Inspired by my father, I want to one day be a surgeon,

And live a life of service so that my impact can burgeon.

College, medical school, residency, and fellowship comprise,

The long journey to medicine, my personal prize.

Since I was a child, I have had my career path planned out,

And each day is a step closer, that dream remains unchanged without a doubt.

I see each day as a chance, I see each class as a blessing,

I see each minute I have as personal progressing.

With my goals set high, with my eyes open wide,

Everything I do is to take my ambitions in stride.

Because I know what I do now paves the way for what's next,

That's why each day is more to me than mere homework and text.

Every class, assignment, interaction, and more,

Is a way to improve, a way to open a new door.

And beyond simple actions, it is the impact they have that I see,

And that is why I love each day, that is what drive me.
