What Do You See?

What do you see

When you look at me?

Do you see a capable young woman?

Or do you see a creature that can't possibly

Live without the help of you, man.

What do you see

When you look at me?

Do you see a mini Rosa Parks?

Or do you just see the color of my skin

That makes you rage in all of your racism.

Well, what do I see

When I look at me?

I see everything that you're not.

I see kindness, I see beauty, I see perseverance.

So who cares what you see when you look at me?
