what do we really mean

Why is it that when we are children everyone is careful of what is said to us?

What makes them take such care?

What causes this to stop when we reach a certain age?

Do they believe we no longer need such care?

If so, why are those words forbidden too us?

Have we not earned them?

We must wait til we are 18 before we can use the words of adults

Yet adults use those words when talking to us.

Do we mean so little that the words we are shielded from as a child

Are naturally expected as teenagers?

Why not use them our whole lives?

At least it won't hurt when the change happens

And we won't believe it is our fault we are treated in such a way.
