The Weakest Link

They say that the chain

is only as strong as its weakest link.

A teacher is meant to combine and fit the links

Together.

As one.

Instead, they separate

And force

The links where they don’t belong.

The dullest links

Are exiled to the edge of the chain.

Even though

They can bear the most.

The standard links

Fit in wherever there is room.

They end up

More often than not

In the wrong place.

The brightest links

Are haphazardly thrown together

Into separate chain

Entirely.

These links are expected

To bear the burden of the system.

Even though

They are no stronger than

Their  brothers.

The two chains are then

Barely joined

By the weakest link

The teacher.

And unsurprisingly

The system collapses.
