We Give

You are smaller than you used to be.

Did the world consume to much of you?

Did it wear away at the outside of your soul,

searching with desperation

dragging it's soiled nails along your chest

in a quest for your heart?

The heart that loves freely,

beating for everyone it meets,

tethering you together for all time,

like the sun and the moon

forever following each other

around the world.

One unforgivably cold,

the other radiating warmth,

a constant light shining

in the harsh darkness.

Are you tired?

We can trade places,

I can be the light now.
