We Are The Writers

We writers think too much

Probably more than we should.

We are usually pretty quiet

As we do most of the writing on paper.

We are the writers.

The sun sets on another day full of promise and hope,

Tragedy and shock.

What do they expect us to feel?

For we are the misunderstood,

The visionaries of modern day society.

We hide in our words and often get lost in them,

Is there anything else to be said of us?

Quietly creative, we wait for our chance

Will it be in the next sentence?

Page?

Will we satisfy the minds of people we will never meet?

Our words are our ghosts

Left behind by our ever searching souls.

Do you feel them?

In words we forever live on

Frozen in time our writings are simply memories of a time long gone,

But it isn't the end yet,

No it is just our beginning.

When we finally say goodbye

We are simply saying hello to a new chapter.

And yes,

Cliche quotes are mandatory,

And as writers we will use them over and over again

Until we think we are the ones who came up with them.

Why not use a cliche?

They came up with the word "cliche" so it could be used,

So why is it bad?

We do not waste our words

We write as many as we can

As many as we can.

Why wouldn't we?

We never have nothing left to say,

On paper that is.

We write for the loved

We write for the unloved

We write for you

We write for someone who is not you.

Write

Write

Write

Right?

We will be right and we will be wrong,

People will have their opinions

When do they not?

We stand by what we write,

But we do not close our minds.

We are the secret keepers

And heroes of something we cannot begin to describe,

We are the writers.
