We are one, open your eyes

I am stressed of being discriminated from the upcoming America

I haven't experienced it myself but my people did.

As a Latina,

my people were stereotyped as lazy .Lazy!

How is it that my people from the south are called lazy?

Please tell me! I am frustrated with the world stating lies that Latinxs

are lazy, rapist, and criminals. Do you know the pain and suffering that

these families faced coming to America?

I have brothers and sisters from all from the lower part of the American border.

We had gotten on En Tren de la Muerte, the train of death, to come here

they sacrified their lives to come here and they are called lazy.

As a person,

I am outraged when my people are victims of police brutality because they are black.

When the police don't protect them, I shed a tear inside because they are not concidered

humans. Slavery has ended and black people can proudly say they are Americans.

But why can they be so proud when policemen are ordered to shoot them?

Please tell me someone why is this going on.

As a person that lives in America,

I am saddened by mainy Americans living in their traditional ways of

ruining people lives because they are not white. Of murdering people of colour

when they are rising into power and finally have a chance to rule as well.

I am saddened that they have the audacity to be proud of hating one another.

How can our currency say "In God we trust" if God is love and we're out there

killing each other because of our skin tone! This is not love!!

Why? Why does my skin tone bother you so much?

Why does the skin tone give you the idea that I'm lazy or that my people out

there are criminals and have no use in this land?

This is a minority majority country. We, the people the live in America,

make a difference you are not the only one. We are one now please accept us.

Open your eyes and see that the difference between us is not very large.

We are all people and we are all of God's children.

As a daughter, sister, student, cousin, friend, niece, minority,

I am here to say that I'm not the only one feeling this distress I've build up.

I am here to make a difference in this upcoming America.

I'm here for my raza and for all my family that is discriminated in America

I am a person that belongs in a land full of peace.

I am a person that will stand with family to fight for justice.
