They are mindless
And often very dangerous,
Living out the last of their rotting days.
They claw at the flesh of the living
In their lust for blood and grey matter.
Drool flies from their gaping mouths
And gets caught on their yellow jagged teeth.
They follow the source of the loud noises
As if they were sentient beings, and curious.
We all know otherwise.
Gore makes the wildly insane,
Frenzying after some pour soul who
Soon becomes one of them.
When they feast, it’s chaotic.
Their spirits no longer live inside the animated corpses.
They watch from above
Horrified at the actions of their bodies.
