As I sit at my screen
I heard your scream

You don't even know me
but even though I sit here
in this office chair
I'm not here
I'm over there

Through the bounds of time
and space I fly
to your side
on the battlefield of the mind
the war of the soul

I won't say I've fought the same daemons
I have enough of my own
But when I see your body tossed aside
broken and dying
defeated by the armies of hell itself
I cant help but feel
the emotion that has been long dormant
buried so deep in me
I knew it was there in me
but its face I hoped I would never have to see
for the power in me
is a fire that makes Hell itself dim

It was born of hate of anger
of being broken by my own enemies
now my wings are mended
my armor polished
my sword sharp
my shield hard

your call of anguish has been heard
the fire has rekindled
the war is on
as I reach your broken corpse
I hear the faintest of breath
you are still here
you stammer "so this is how it ends?"
No, this is how it begins

stand and fight
for though you cannot see me
I am by your side
our swords are one blade
our shields a wall
the anguish of defeat reminds me
of side of Hell that my fury was born in
the beasts that surround us
shall know that there is a thing called hope
and its shinning light shall pierce their souls
just as our blades pierce their flesh

you cannot die
I am unafraid to

together, the very forces of hell cannot match us
together, we fight

once more into the fray
once more with purpose
you are not alone in this fight
