Waiting
When love finds me I know I'll play the skeptic because I've never given my heart
the opportunity to beat for anyone
I don't know how it looks on men with clean hearts and pure intentions, but I promise
I will not let these lips part the words I love you until we both mean it
I have seen too many people fall in with their hearts in the wrong places
So when the love spell finally comes around I hope he's everything I 've ever dreamed
of and that he finds me in his prayers so that he knows I'm sent from God
I hope when we finally get past my awkwardness
I'll muster up enough courage to tell him I'm still a virgin, I've never been kissed,
and you're the first boyfriend I've ever had and with those loving eyes he will see
the value in me and see that I'm the treasure he's been looking for
He will cherish every moment that we spend together and will love me like I'm the
only one that matters
I imagine he will propose to me with a diamond ring engraved with our fondest
memories and
When we marry my heart will have graduated with years of experience on how to
love
The first time we will lay together he will brag in confidence that he's the first man
I've ever touched
I am almost certain that he will brand his name on the small of my back
claiming my lands as his while kissing my lips like it's forbidden fruit
He will know that something this beautiful didn't just fall out of heaven, but it
was created by the hands of God
In his eyes I will behold perfection, as he holds me, controlling the sea of my hips,
keeping his hands at bay, melting his skin into my back we will create one shade
He will whisper my name as if it's too sacred to hit the ground
Once facing each other we will catch it in between our lip, where it nestles as if
it's safe there
My hands will grip at the movement of his back as if offering balance to this
waywardship
Our bodies will be the mass keeping it slow and steady
Our fingers will paint the very image of God as we claim the territory he brought
in union
Finally when the waves cease clashing on our shore with all the wind knocked out
of us
I will lay my head upon his steady moving chest, listening to his heartbeat, while
we're entagled in each other's embrace and
I will remember why God allowed me to hold out so long in the first place
