Wait

Loved ones gone in an instant,
Swept away in the breeze
Taken too early and way too young

Left those around them in tears,
And with words still unsaid
I love you and I miss you.

Now I look around
Looking for the ghost of you.
Wanting just a glimpse- the slightest one,
To prove that you’re still there.
In the halls, in my car,
Wherever you may go
I’ll search there.

The leaves are coming down
With the snow coming now.
Now I’ll have to learn
About this ride called life
Without you

But I know that we will meet again one day
Above the stars and clouds
With lights all around.
Because inside those gates,
You’ll wait.
