Wait . . .

A beginning so beautiful,
Pure, sweet, divine,
A plan to not plan,
Hand in hand, with hearts entwined.
Two different people,
But two halves to a whole,
Growing at different rates,
But part of one soul;
"I'll wait for you."
"Don't let me go."

A melody turned solemn,
Both fighting to stay one,
Too different, one might say,
Had the minor chord won?
Two different people,
Two halves to a whole,
Turned fragile somehow,
Struggling to keep control;
"Wait for me,
You can't let me go . . ."
