Vow-less

Ecclesiastes 5:5

It is better for you not to vow
than to vow and not pay it.

Vow-less

A promise made to be broken ... how much is commitment worth?

Are vows made as a token of sincerity ... or from an empty purse?

I’ll do this, that and the other ... but my memory will fade tomorrow.

Give me just a day or two ... and it will be totally gone.

Reminder glimpses will bother ... just a little while in sorrow

as my conscience shows me the fool ... by the things I left undone.

I am used to be chided ... it took over my new nature.

I am now again becoming ... the inner man I never left.

A perfect wall called “white” ... no blemish in this creature.

Now “grace” is condoning ... and I am not bereft.
