Villanelle against Semi-Automatic Weapons

I am writing a gun law villanelle

For Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee,

Because our school yards have turned into hell.

 

Gun laws ring cracked as the Liberty Bell,

Because Congress fails to act or agree

To stop the killing so this villanelle

 

Might make these cowards finally rebel

Against the rapid triggered gun lobby

Whose automatic weapons make schools hell.

 

Magazine bullets cast an evil spell

In a field manual of arms that decree

A need for firing off this villanelle

 

To the begging hands of the infidel

NRA, who hire lackeys who can’t see

How AR-15s turn schools into hell.

 

From Columbine, Sandy Hook, & Parkland, shell

Casings prove gun worshipers bend their knee

To demons preying on schools as this villanelle

Calls for the end to this rampage from Hell.
