Sitting hunched
Wrinkled, broken
Weathered, dignified
Eyes worn through time
Soul tumbled
By waves of experience
Some good
But most led her here
And she sits
Against the cheap plastic tiling
Chipped on the surface
A bit like her
And as the sun hits it
And as the sun hits her
As the sun hits the coins in her palm
Her eyes sparkle again
With the warmth of new light
And the warmth of new life
The warmth of forgetting
She is suffering
But as the sun warms her skin
For a second again
As the sun warms her skin
Leprous and pale
Her mouth splits a toothless grin
And she is young again
