Untitled #6

For a while,

I didn't like to wake up.

I hated the monotone beeps of the alarm clock,

the pungent smell of watered-down coffee,

the windy mornings,

the feel of my makeup brushes.

I hated it all.

But then my doctor gave me this prescription.

And when I wake up,

I let my new alarm ring longer because it sounds like chimes,

and I make a warm cup of coffee,

and I walk outside and feel the crisp air of my face,

and I do my makeup and feel gorgeous.

I love it all.

And then I see my brothers and listen to they're loud laughs

and my best friend will pick me up for school

and I just laugh.

I laugh because I like to wake up nowadays.
