Unspoken Words; What Poetry Means To Me

Unspoken words

on the surface of my mouth.

I wonder how, in deep thought, I lay.

I wonder how

How to release, to let them flow

These unspoken words are much too powerful to just let go

Unspoken, sitting on my brain-

it moves closer.

Unspoken, hanging over my tongue,

daunting-

No.

These unspoken words are too deep to just let go.

Unspoken words,

too deep to be explained in a stuttering everyday noun or with hesitant verbs.

Unspoken words

I wonder how, I wonder how

Pick up the pencil, head to the screen

It's time to showcase what these words mean

Words unspoken until black and white

lest, they lose impact and and dull becomes their bright.

It's done! I've said it, but not with my lips

I release the tension and losen my grip

These black and white words now have color

I release, yet I am fillled-

I am content.

They are spoken, now to recite, finally, with my lips.
