Unspoken

We stand next to eachother yet to you I'm a stranger
To you I'm like a weasel who's slow to anger
Time stands still for me as if I'm a hostage in your eyes
Kept at arms length waiting for me to cut ties
Afraid to let anyone too close to your heart
So you pull away while tearing me apart
We are more alike than you'd ever know
As you grow further from my reach the pain starts to show
Was it the lies
Or maybe my disguise
Then the set begins to change
It's dark and only I stand in range
Freezing, I stood in solitude looking down
Words left unspoken are released as you rest in a gown
Fear and pride were my greatest downfall
Now its too late as my tears fall
Again the world is rearranged
I'm on the streets with a look so deranged
Only being drunk can I numb the pain
I pass by old friends and hear them say I'm insane
My deepest regrets led me here
Finally laid to rest after one final tear.
