Unscathed

I was that gum on your shoe.

I was the ant you murdered going down the hall.

My heart was the toy that no one cared for.

I was useless, unseen.

My being was nothing but a bother.

Time and terror has turned me.

My will has driven me to get stronger.

Hope and helplessness has fed the fire that is me.

Broken glasses and torn hearts have built walls for me to hide behind.

Now, I am the strong girl with nothing to hold her back.

I am beautiful and none can tell me different.

My ethics are set in stone to help me and others improve.

I am unharmed by the scars of old.

My heart is stronger than ever before with a thirst for life.

Now, I am strong, powerful, and strong-willed.

I am me.
