An unnecessary lesson to teach (Freeverse)

What will future generations see in the textbooks?

What will our future children hear of our victories?

Sugarcoated stories of so called "movements".

A beautfully decorated present that we forgot to fill.

The war on Wall Street has seized.

The troops of the 99% have scattered.

Kony is still on the run.

It is a denied truth.

That causes fade faster that internet memes.

Past parents taught kids that it is worth sticking with what you start.

That lesson was not learnt.

But one lesson will be learnt,

for our generation and future ones...

The movement will seize.

Though anger and passion flare up; when a person lights up a match.

It will die down like a lit match in the wind.

These movements are band aids.

Band aids on a deep wound.

For us to ignore.

But for the children to suffer though and attempt to fix.
