Unknown Face
A room with the sun shining through the windows
Chairs, magazines and pamphlets on tables
And I had the chills
Waiting…
Hoping they would never get to me
Girl after girl, young and old
I felt shame
The more time that went by, the more my anxiety augmented
It took them hours
And suddenly, I was walking into my night mare
But they dazed me, I was there but I wasn’t
Laying there with only socks and a gown
And a needle in my arm feeling lower than the ground
Wishing my life was over instead
I walked out that homicide scene, but emotionally scared
Broken.
