The Unknown

Through crowds I wander.

Down lonely sidewalks I go.

Beyond my flesh my soul lies yonder.

The spirit that very few truly know.

Though I am silent my thoughts are many.

Those in the crowd I walk through don't hear any.

I fear what would happen if they really did see me.

My kindness would be seen as weakness.

Their glaring eyes might cause me to flee.

My faith would be mocked as foolishness.

But what would happen if I pulled back the curtain?

Until that day, I will never be certain.
