The Unknown

Thu, 06/14/2018 - 00:41 -- Kate.T

The morning sun set as I forced myself to gasp for air as I broke the surface of the water
It was a beautiful thing,
that this water
this water planet
with clumps of rock that we thought we owned
could never be marked

Because the ocean waters roared
And we hid from it
Yet
Our ashes
Our bones
were swallowed up into the murky mind of the unknown

We gaze and adore the flames burning far away in the sky
And leave the mystery that is buried in our blood
Yes,
We were created from the dust of dying stars
But
We forget we have oceans of galaxies in our veins
