The Unknown
The gale it crashed upon the ship
It cracked the mast drawing swear from lip
Waves did surge across the decks
Men clung to the lines
Yet were overboard swept
The sails lashed against her sides
Hope for the crew that moment did die
They fired the guns off one by one
Raised their cries
And prayed for the sun
Yet still they fell into the sea
With naught left but their dignity
The morning came
The sun arose
Awakened from its long repose
Its golden rays then downward shone
Upon the wreckage of the ship Unknown
