The Unfailing Love
A breeze flutters across his face.
He`s escaping to another place.
Rosy cheeked and quick to smile,
Who would have guessed he lived denial?
Each day that passes, the feelings grow.
Until the day they overflow.
His cheerful heart is overtaken,
His laugh and grin have been forsaken.
Tonight he`s giving up his soul.
For it`s turned so black, as black as coal.
He can no longer live a life of lies,
And for that fact his Savior cries.
As the raging waters flow on by,
The boy looks down, he`s up too high.
He`s made his choice, he`ll end his life;
But by jumping, not by knife.
God is weeping tears of sorrow,
This child wants no more days to borrow.
But as His tears touch the child from above,
Once again the boy feels love.
From the bridge, he climbs down slowly,
No longer feeling weak or lowly.
For God`s Son died that he might live,
And see the Lord`s powers to forgive.
He trudges home feeling healed and new,
But now the boy has one thing to do.
Kneeling by his bedside, like when he was small,
He finally returns his dear Savior`s call.
Thanking God is where he begins,
Admitting to his deepest sins.
As his prayers are carried away,
The boy feels the strength to face a new day.
