We were texting like we always did.

He joked around with me like a kid.

We were very close friends,

But one text made that end.

I have always liked him,

Always watched him in gym,

Always thought of his smile,

He just had a different style.

Every joke he told made me smile,

He even made me forget my old lifestyle.

But that text completely changed us,

Made us discuss topics we never discussed before.

He finally admitted he was crushing.

And so I typed while blushing,

And replied with pure honesty.

I couldn't possibly believe it,

My closest friend liked me.

How can that actually be?

That confession broke us apart,

But it was a head start for something better between us.
