Understanding The Competition (Eric)

It seems as though I've got it all planned out
Well That's an ACT
Intended on having you think that im ahead
When really
Tit for tat is where we're at
Parallel
We're both stuck in the same stage
And we're about as equivalent as 7.25 is to minimum wage
Equal
I guess
But still competing none the less
Im determined to win and my heart
Literally
Resonates within my chest
It shines bright
So Im not worried about your shadow
Luckily, Im trapped in the sea of opportunity
With a boat, life vest, and paddle
Destined to wonder until I find my purpose
True
Ignorance is bliss
But being lazy can mean you're worthless
When I say ignorance is bliss
I mean it's ok
Cant be punish for what you dont know now
Just strive to learn one day
Being lazy on the other hand can mean that you have the land needed to grow trees
But you would rather sit around than get off your ass to water the seeds
I know its a waste of time
I know its a waste of potential
Thats part of the reason why i feel so influential
I point out your flaws
And hope that you improve
I hope you make changes as the clock tick instead
Of rolling over and pressing snooze
But As high as my hopes are
They'll only go so far
It's like fuel
If you can keep rolling without it
That's a hell of a car
Still unlikely
There was a reason behind that metaphor
Win or lose
As this competition concludes
What would I need medal for
Knowing I gave my all is more than enough
Continuing on against the odds proves I'm tough
Despite the temptation
I won't sit down
I must stand up
I won't be held down
I must rise up
And though I could tear you down
I'd much rather build you up
Because this is coming from neither a friend nor an enemy
But an equal competitor
Who wishes you luck
Good luck
