Underneath

Location

White clothes wipe off her face.

The palette that covered her face

now gone.

Her confidence

no where to be found.

Stripped of color and paint,

her eyes shine just as bright.

Underneath the metal and plastic,

her imperfectly perfect teeth cower.

Beach waved

choppy brown hair

flows down her head

hitting just below the collarbone.

She peers at herself in the handheld mirror

thinking

"I wouldn't change a thing."

This poem is about:
Me
